Warm relief-pattern ceramic tiles arranged in a refined field.

Flemish Relief

Relief surfaces with a quieter depth.

Selected surfaces carry a raised pattern that holds light, shadow, and glaze differently from tile to tile.

The motifs are informed by Flemish lace heritage, yet the surface remains architectural rather than ornate.

Across a wall, variation sits between relief, tone, and glaze movement rather than relying on repetition alone.

Relief Detail

A verdigris relief variation, shown close.

This close view shows how glaze gathers across the lace-informed relief, with rutile-toned depth between the raised lines.

Within the broader collection, it reads as one surface variation rather than the collection's primary field.

Use & Care

Best suited to interior wall applications where surface character is prioritised.

Due to the sharper relief, gentle non-snaring cleaning methods are preferred. Soft-bristle brushes are more suitable than microfiber cloths or sponges that may catch on the relief.

Avoid abrasive scrubbing and cleaning products with high acidity or high alkalinity. Test any stronger cleaner first on a discreet area.

Material Composition

A more involved surface, shaped through relief and glaze.

Flemish Relief is formed from a ceramic body and an in-house glaze system containing selected fluxes, glass-forming materials, opacifiers, colorants, and mineral additions. Variation in relief, tone, glaze movement, and edge irregularity belongs to the work and is not considered a defect. The more involved forming and hand-finishing remain proprietary.

Inquiry

Project requests are handled directly.

Delivery and batch timing are discussed upon request. Projects are ideally discussed at least 8 weeks in advance, and selected samples remain available for active projects.

Early reservation is recommended for preferred glaze selection and batch planning. Larger commissions should be reserved in advance due to drying and firing schedules.
